Happy 2013!

Bowtie Quilt 007
Happy New Year Everyone!    I’ve been quiet here on the Sideroad but I have been stitching.  Here is a little 18”x21” Bowtie mini I made for Christmas.

Borders are always tough for me so here is how I did this quilt.

Quilt Border Design 1
I copied the above quilting design on a piece of light plastic with a permanent marker.  Actually, a plastic cutting mat from the dollar store.  Then I cut out half the design as in the picture below.
Stencil 002

Using my invisible quilt marking pen I traced half the design then flipped it over and traced the other half.

I used my walking foot to do the quilting.   This worked so well I will be looking for more quilting designs to use this easy peasy method.   What do you think?

If I can get my old PC to co-operate I hope to do some more blogs posts soon.  Thanks, for stopping by and all the best in 2013 to all of you.
